Chapter 2: Of God, and of the Holy Trinity

In the unity of the Godhead there be three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost:¹ the Father is of none, neither begotten, nor proceeding; the Son is eternally begotten of the Father;² the Holy Ghost eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son.³

1 John 5:7

Matthew 3:16-17

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
