Chapter 21: Of Religious Worship, and the Sabbath Day

Prayer is to be made for things lawful;¹ and for all sorts of men living, or that shall live hereafter:² but not for the dead,³ nor for those of whom it may be known that they have sinned the sin unto death.⁴

2 Samuel 12:21-23

Then his servants said to him, “What is this thing that you have done? 1 John 5:16

If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. (ESV)
